101. Why I do this?
Everything is expected to have a reason. What are then my reasons on creating and maintaining this blog? This post might be dynamically adjusted, as far as I become gradually aware of the hidden subconscious flows of my mind that force me to type in words after another.
I have never felt the power of lists. After all, I claim to have a blog that is all about relations between things. Not just things in some ordered or unordered lists. So, an exception to the rule right at the beginning!
(1) Avoiding (intellectual) idleness
Life can pass by while running in circles. I needed a personal excuse to engage in this “project” that takes me out of my comfort zone.
(2) The complex world explained misleadingly simply
The disparity between the unexplainably complex world we live in and the flood of “the-reality-for-dummies” -explanations, led me to entertain the delusional idea of being able to illuminate some aspects of this Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous reality around us.
(3) Correlation DOES NOT EQUAL TO Causation
But still our (statistical) tools generate us with ideas (say six times c-o-r-r-e-l-a-t-i-o-n in front your mirror and you might evaporate into thin air). Those ideas are based on observed associations (like Pearson’s correlation coefficients). Causal thinking requires another language. Causal thinking actually requires human thinking. Causal thinking can, and should be, done before shrugging all available data into statistical functions and eating the outputs as a possible causal explanation.
(4) AI-Generated Art
Because I cannot (anymore) steal others beautiful photos from the depth of internet and publish them here as my own, I need an alternative plan to visualise the themes of my posts. Thankfully, AI-generated art has developed significantly in recent years so I saw this as a perfect timing to combine my broken English with the imagination of silicon chips.
